2021 London Book Fair — BIC webinar sessions

The book industry’s supply chain issues are international in scope. Responding to the challenges requires an appreciation of the connection between supply chain partners. To be successful we believe publishers must think globally but act locally.

The video we are sharing here was presented at the 2021 London Book Fair and offers insights from four experienced supply chain managers – two from the United Kingdom and two from the United States. If you have any questions about any of the material presented or we can answer any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Feel free to contact David Hetherington at d.hetherington@booksintl.com

We have also attached collateral material presented during the LBF session that you may find of value:   LBF SCM Presentation.

BOOK INDUSTRY STUDY GROUP FREIGHT & SHIPPING MARKET UPDATE — JULY 6, 2021

LIVE WEBINAR RECORD

Covid 19 has confronted the book publishing industry with a myriad of changes and challenges – with the traditional industry supply chain placed under extraordinary pressure.

While we are surely emerging from the worst of the pandemic, key elements of the book industry’s supply chain continue to face difficulties including dramatic increases in the cost of both ocean freight and domestic shipping, capacity constraints, and extended delivery schedules.

Books International’s David Hetherington served as a panelist on a July 6, 2021 webinar sponsored by the Book Industry Study Group on the industry’s freight and shipping challenges and offered a range of supply chain strategies for coping with these extraordinary times.

We encourage you to view the video and the attached presentation and of course, welcome any questions you may have.
